YOUR ADVOCATE

Lilia Azatian

Lilia obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Toronto. She specialized in political science and her involvement in this stream afforded her the opportunity to collaborate with several governmental departments engaged in public policy initiatives. This provided her with an extensive foundation regarding the rules and regulations of the decision making process throughout all levels of government. While acquiring knowledge about the various institutional structures within government, she saw the most opportunity for change in legal institutions.

During law school, Lilia was actively involved with the neighborhood Legal Clinic and participated in a Social Assistance Task Force. This organization aimed to provide legal advice to community members on the new legislative changes surrounding social assistance and housing. Lilia volunteers her time as a mock trial coach with the Ontario Justice Education Network, a city-wide program that introduce young people to the justice system, helps them understand the law, and builds their legal capability. Through happenstance, she was assigned to a high school that she too once attended and hopefully her involvement will inspire young adults to follow a career in the law. Lilia is an avid member of the LGBTQ+ community, advocating with respect to equal rights and social justice issues. She sits on the executive for her Section, Sexual Orientation Gender Identification Group (“SOGIC”), at the Ontario Bar Association, serving the post of Newsletter Editor.

Beginning her legal career in civil litigation with a focus on construction law, she articled at BPR Litigation Lawyers. This boutique firm of specialized lawyers provided valuable experience through their track record of proven success. She was then offered an opportunity for an in-house role within a technology company, where she developed her skills as a corporate lawyer.

As an entrepreneur at heart, Lilia launched her practice in early 2018, offering legal solutions for for startups, small businesses, and medium size organizations, facilitating various forms of transactions. The areas of service include: incorporation, the purchase and sale of business (share & asset purchase), partnerships, co-venture, licensing, and commercial contracts.

Lilia’s passion for equal rights fuels her need to offer services in family law. She offers legal solutions for personal partnerships and family related matters, with a specific focus in diverse family structures. Lilia is a true advocate and thrives by maintaining a collaborative and personable approach to her practice. She is able to service her clients in English, Russian, and Armenian.
